I am currently running the rare but substantial AMD Radeon HD 7970 Ghz Edition graphics card and have a slight CPU bottle neck because I have an i5 with 4 cores and 4 threads.įor people who have purchased one of these systems with the GT 1030 installed, please don't blame the optiplex, the blame lies with the refurbisher not taking time to properly match the card with the system. The combo of the 3rd or 4th gen i5 and i7 CPU and the GTX 570 would be a near perfect mat ch performance wise with little to no bottlenecking. If I were refurbishing these retired office systems, I would match them up with the good Ole nvidia gtx 570 or 580. That card was mediocre at best when it was released in mid 2017. 3) The choke point of this build unfortunately is going to be the GT 1030 graphics card. 2) The addition of the SSD is absolutely crucial if your expecting any kind of performance while gaming. 1) It's great that the upgraded to 16gb of ram, however that's a reasonably cheap upgrade and is kind of overkill for this particular pc.
